CHAPTER THRITY-ONE
Sabrina and I werent really talking to each other at the moment. In fact, we both were standing at opposite ends of the ship, looking outside.
Who could really blame us?
Just a few minutes left until the next duelA few minutes until I had to duel against Sabrina. The hardest duel Ive had to face in the tournament by far.
I did duel against her in the past. Several times in fact, but those were all just fun times where we either were just dueling to boost my grades at the academy, or just for plain old fun and games.
Well now there was so much more at stake, and worse than that, there would be no way out for the loser.
The winner would get to proceed onto the finals, while the other according to Marik and Ishizus twisted games, would have to sign divorce papers.
No matter who won this duel, somebody was going to lose everything.
The girls, and Jerry were keeping their eyes on us, and so far. I dont think Ive ever seen anyone so quiet about something before. said Sam.
Jerry had a feeling he knew what was going on in our minds right now, and he was right too Sabrina and I were taking a stroll down our memory lanes of love.
FLASHBACK, 12 years ago
Back when I was eight. The day after I became an Obelisk Blue, and I was invited to the first-class black tie gala in the Royal courtyard.
Sabrina was introduced, and made her way down the stairs. Thats when I first saw her, and when we first met up, face-to-face for the first time even though I was a child I knew I was in love.
Sabrina was also blushing, and her eyes twinkled whenever she came near me. I could tell that she liked me too, and from that moment on we were inseparable.
Six Years later
She inflamed my passion, and inspired me to become an artists, and a poet, and she was my favorite subject. I loved making portraits of her. I memorized that face so well, that I could picture it without even tracing a photo or actually having her next to me.
I love writing poems for her, and sometimes even putting them into songs.

I had to come to grips with myself, I knew I could go through with this. I did say Id do anything for Sabrina, and even if it meant kicking her out of the tournament, at least wed still be together.
Without my signature on those papers, nothing will have really changed, and as long as I believed in my friends, and in the Heart of the Cards, I knew things would go my way.
Odion suddenly announced that the Final duel of the first round was about to begin, and so, I put my face on straight, and headed up to the dueling arena.
I was relived to make it to the elevator alone, without having to see Sabrina there with me, but actually to my bad luck, she was in the other life already and I could see her through the glass.
Our eyes met, and then we both turned away from each other.
Everyone else was already up on the stage, Including Marik and Ishizu, who had the divorce papers ready for whoever lost the duel.
Its not fair. cried Alex. Why should Mykan and Sabrina have to go through with this? I mean, theyre married for crying out loud, no one should tell them how to live their lives.
Ha! Thats what they all said. said Marik. Everyone said that each individual gets to choose their own path to follow.
Yet, every path we choose, only led us to bitterness, and misery. added Ishizu. Our father was killed, we were banished form the academy, and we both lost the ones we knew we were destined to be with.
Sam, Alex, and Jerry each raised an eyebrow. Some destiny that was. mumbled Sam.
You just cant go off and ruin lives because you suffered through bad luck. Snapped Jerry. Its no ones fault what happened to you happened.
Marik and Ishizu just sniggered. Thats what they all said. said Marik. But now we have all the power, and we shall control our own destinies.
Ishizu picked up baby Eric from her playpen and rocked her gently. Already I have the child that was meant to be mine with Mykans, and if he loses this match, soon I shall have Mykan himself.
Even if Sabrina is the one who loses, she will sign her name, and she will soon be mine. added Marik. And don not count on winning this tournament and reversing any of that. Destiny is on our side.
And speaking of destiny said Ishizu as she pointed over to the lifts. Sabrina and I finally came in both of us walking towards the stage with really deep looks in our eyes.
Look at them! cried Sam. They both may be lovers, yet they look like to warriors ready for a clash of the titans.
Sabrina and I finally got to the stage, and she finally spoke up. Mykan. she said to me. I want you to know, I really do love you, and will never love another but dont think for one moment that Im going to go easy on you.
Everyone was very surprised to hear her say that, but hearing those words gave me the spark I needed. All right Sabrina lets do this. I said. Were both fighting for the same thing, and we cant let Marik and Ishizus games get to us.
You duel with all you have, and I shall do likewise.
Sabrina smiled to me that creepy smile she showed me the first time I ever dueled her, and I gave her my creepy smile.
Odion stepped in and held out his arm. This is the final match of the first half of the semi finals. He proclaimed. Professor Mykan Princess Sabrina prepare to duel.
As we shuffled our decks and prepared our disk, Sabrina and I took ourselves down more of our memories
How did it come to this
